Remember, Remember Bank Transfer Day - Day 49 #OWS

Occupy Portland Prepares for Bank Transfer Day (November 5th)

[Update: After The People's Hearing on Goldman-Sachs, a mock-trial in Zucotti Park, Chris Hedges Arrested in Front of Goldman Sachs.]

If you can't get it done today, get it done tomorrow. If you can't get it done tomorrow, give them something to think about on Monday. If you can't do it on Monday, then Tuesday's just as good...

American Banker - Bank Customers Flee to CUs:
WASHINGTON — An estimated 650,000 consumers have closed their bank accounts and opted for credit union membership over the past four weeks, according to CUNA, bringing the approach to Saturday’s Bank Transfer Day to a crescendo.
Chicago Tribune - Move Your Money movement this Saturday:
Customers are dumping their banks in droves ahead of the nationwide "Move Your Money" and "Bank Transfer Day" movements this Saturday.

Given the recent spotlight on attempts -- and ultimate failures -- by some of the nation's biggest banks to tack on new debit card fees, thousands of disgruntled consumers have already either left or pledged to leave their current bank for a community bank or credit union, which are known for having fewer and/or lower bank account fees.
Financial Times - US credit unions surge in popularity:
The consumer backlash following Bank of America’s announcement last month that it would charge customers $5 a month to use debit cards has forced BofA and fellow banks to scrap such plans...

Advocates are encouraging customers to switch from traditional banks to credit unions, non-profit financial co-operatives that generally charge little or no fees on debit card transactions, ATM withdrawals and checking and savings accounts.
CNN Money - Bank dumping days begin:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Customers are dumping their banks in droves ahead of the nationwide "Move Your Money" and "Bank Transfer Day" movements this Saturday.

If this action becomes big enough, prepare to be arrested. Be proud of it.

Close Your Bank Account and Get Arrested!
