#OccupyPortland Not Having It, Mayor Adams - #OWS Day 58

Using horses as weapons, Po-Po is backed off by too-big to fail crowd
Hours after the eviction deadline of 12:01 a.m., Portland Police interact with protesters, attempting to push the crowd out of the streets. A police officer was injured shortly before 2 a.m. by a projectile thrown from the crowd. As tension rose, police arrested a 23-year-old man and warned demonstrators they would be subject to arrest or chemical agents.
Today's FDL liveblog: Live Blog for #Occupy Movement: Day 57, Occupy Portland Survives Night But Still Faces Eviction (Obviously, Kevin and I still disagree on what day it is.)

"You're Sexy! You're Cute! Take Off That Riot Suit!" Po-Po retreats from sexual intimidation.
Despite being given a 12:01am deadline to leave the parks, Occupy Portland protesters stood their ground and continued to grow in numbers. Portland police attempted to disperse the crowd with their horses but made little progress. As a result, the officers backed down into a 1-block radius in an apparent effort to avoid conflict and wait the crowd out.
"Push back!" "March!" No go, Po-Po

"Here they come!" "Hell no, we won't go!"
Police try to push though occupy Portland human barricade, not successfully.
Good job, Portland #Occupiers! This is how it's done. And appreciation to the police for not getting stupid. Ya didn't have to do that, but it is appreciated.

#OccupyEverywhere!

You may or may not know that I'm recently moved here to Portland from Phoenix, so extra love to you for stopping by and showing your support.

And bless you for #occupying one of the toughest cities in the nation in which to pull it off.

  3. When does it stop--the true homeless coming up to you and saying I WANT YOUR TENT..go get a job and be productive not destructive...pay taxes and contribute to this world..Nothing is free..you have to work for it.

  4. @Anonymous - Any man who feels inclined to admonish me that I "have to work" for something is a clearly willing slave to some other man and wants me to be the same.

We came up in this world quite nicely until we got "clever" and invented agriculture and jobs and taxes and all of the other things which created overpopulation, avarice, resource depletion, territorial warfare, fear directed away from Nature and towards each other, acquisition, labor and poverty.

3,000 years of stupid behavior has not wiped out 200,000 years of evolutionary conditioning as free men being raised and fed, gratis, by our planet.

This "modern" world is make-believe and venal. It is not natural.

Thankfully, we will not be able to "afford" to prop it up much longer as we are approaching the end of cheap energy. Some see this as a catastrophe, I see it as a liberation.
